Because of the club's large debts, the club had to drop further to Serie D. A search was made for a potential buyer or sponsor of the club to solve the financial problems.
It has not been possible to find a buyer. After 35 years, the soccer club Chievo Verona finally ceases to exist.
Italian soccer club Chievo Verona is bankrupt. After playing in Serie A from 2001 to 2019, the club relegated to Serie D within three years due to financial problems. The club had sky-high debts and stopped for good after 35 years of existence.
