After successful films like Interstellar and Inception, director Christopher Nolan wanted to score another hit with the film Tenet.
During the corona pandemic, Warner Bros. made the decision to release the film on the big screen anyway. Other major films such as the James Bond film No Time To Die were delayed though.
The film received good reviews, but due to the closure of cinemas, it was not a success. Especially the cinemas in New York and California could have earned a lot. It took $500 million to cover the cost of the film, but only $340 million has been earned so far.
Director Christopher Nolan's theatrical film Tenet that came out during the corona pandemic has not been a financial success. The film was well received, but due to the closure of cinemas especially in the US, the film lost too much revenue to cover its costs.
